In 2004 Vreid arose from the demise of the legendary Windir. Right away Vreid made an impact on the European metal scene, yet it wasn’t until 2007’s “I Krig” that the band took it to the next level by incorporating elements of Norwegian folk music and 70’s classic rock, while still keeping their Norwegian metal roots intact. Dubbed as “Black & Roll” by the press, the album got rave reviews and massive European tours with Marduk, Unleashed, Enslaved, and Pestilence soon followed.

Even with all of the band’s success, no one was prepared for Vreid’s 2008 album: MILORG. Produced entirely by the band themselves, MILORG is a milestone in Norwegian metal and showcases a sound that’s more mature and atmospheric, while remaining raw and powerful.
In October, MILORG will be released in the US by Indie Recordings/The End Records Distribution. A full North American tour dubbed “Heathenfest” with Eluveitie & Belphegor will immediately follow the release.
